Welcome to Northwest Rankin Middle School! NWRMS is home to approximately 900 students in the 7th and 8th grade and is located in the northwest corner of Rankin County in the city of Flowood.
The faculty and staff at Northwest Rankin Middle School are committed to providing the best possible education for every student. NWRMS staff consists of 73 certified educators as wells as 12 classified support personnel. Forty-nine percent of the certified staff has earned advanced degrees, and six are National Board Certified.
NWRMS has been designated by the Mississippi Department of Education as an A school. In addition to the core curriculum offered in math, English, science, technology and social studies, students at NWRMS have the opportunity to take courses in art, theatre arts, band, music, and Spanish.

Please help Rankin County School District gather signatures for the Better Schools Better Jobs initiative to go on the ballot November 2015. If this amendment passes it will require the Legislature to fully fund the Mississippi Adequate Education Fund (MAEP). If RCSD had been fully funded from MAEP, RCSD would have received over $36 million additional money over the last four years.

This proposal offers our legislators a way to achieve full funding without raising taxes. It recommends they use at least 25 percent of new growth to the General Fund and put that money into MAEP over a period of a few years, where it should be. Then, the Legislature must continue K-12 funding at least at that level forever.

If you are a registered voter and would like to sign the petition, please visit our school.  For more information contact your child's principal.
