  • Students who are new this year can go by the school to register from July 21 to July 25 between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Welcome to RHS!

  • The Rankin County School District is excited to offer an online tool that will make registering your child for the upcoming school easier than ever. The launch date is set for July 28, 2014. To be able to access this program all that we need from parents or legal guardians is a valid email address. We will use this email address to provide you with electronic notification of launch dates as well as instructions.   • Proof of residency for returning students can be done July 29th and 30th from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Click this link for the list of acceptable documents to bring with you.

  • Parking Permits will be available for purchase on the following dates:
    Seniors only - July 31, 2014 from 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00
    All other students - August 1, 4, 5, and 6 from 8:00-11:00 and 1:00 -2:00

  • It is back-to-school time! Orientation will be held in the cafeteria as follows:
    Seventh grade orientation: August 4th at 5:00 PM
    Freshman orientation: August 5th at 5:00 PM
    Senior orientation:
    August 5th at 6:15 PM

  • Open House for grades 7-12 will be August 19 from 5:00-6:30. Come meet the teachers, see their classrooms, and find out what supplies are needed for students to be successful. We are excited to begin the 2014-15 school year and we want you to share that excitement with the parents of our students. We look forward to meeting you.

Richard Sutton, Principal We look forward to serving your children at Richland High School this new school year. Our mission is to prepare every student with the cognitive and social skills necessary to be productive members of an ever-changing global society. With the collaboration of teachers, parents and the community, our school will continue to strive for excellence to reach higher standards in academics, athletics and other extra-curricular activities.We encourage you to become active in our school by visiting our campus, conferencing with our teachers and by participating in our PTO, Booster Clubs, and other school support organizations. Together we can provide the best learning opportunities available for your children. We request that your child be in attendance each day, as research has shown that students who regularly attend class will perform at a higher achievement level.Richland High School serves over nine hundred students in grades seven through twelve. Our staff and teachers are highly qualified professionals that endeavor in best practices each day to prepare our students for success upon graduation. We hold students to high expectations, and we hold ourselves to the same high standard of expectations.
