EDUCATIONAL SETTING
Florence Attendance Zone is located in the southwestern part of Rankin
County. Boasting an enrollment of approximately 2,100 students in grades K-12,
Florence has three campuses housing elementary, middle school, and high school
students. The Florence School Zone is a Tech Prep site.
PARENT/COMMUNITY NETWORKING
Partnerships between school and home create optimal learning experiences
for children. With this in mind, principals and teachers in the Florence
Attendance Zone work with parents and community leaders to accomplish goals for
student achievement in academics and extra-curricular activities. Each school
has an active Parent Teacher Organization that provides many volunteer work
hours at the school.
Additionally, all schools participate in the Partners in Education program, which is a direct partnership between the school and a business or community group. This program helps to enrich the educational process by direct involvement. Businesses, community groups and the school, work together to build strong schools that offer the best educational opportunities for students and thus contribute to the overall quality of life in the community.
