Our Mission
The special education department is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA 2004) in the identification and evaluation, eligibility, and individualized education programming for children with disabilities ages 3-21 years old.

The Rankin County School District is committed to an ongoing effort to identify, locate, and evaluate children age 3 through the age of 21 who have a physical, mental, communicative, and/or emotional disability.
