School Counselors collaborate with administrators and teachers to implement a guidance curriculum based on ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors and the MS Counseling Frameworks into the classroom.
Counselors collaborate with the district crisis counselor to implement large group student assemblies to meet the needs of the students and community.
Counselors work with administration to implement school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
Counselors identify and serve students in need of behavioral support through the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support/RtI process. Some interventions counselors utilize are:
- Check and Connect Mentoring Program
- Small Group and Individual Counseling
- Check In Check Out Program
- Behavior Contracts
- Functional Behavior Analysis
- Behavior Intervention Plan
Counselors make referrals to outside agencies as needed such as, but not limited to, those listed below.
