Academic Interventions
MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Supports) is a multi-step process that is put in place to support the academic and behavioral needs of ALL students as early as possible to ensure success. The goal of MTSS is to prevent failure and make all students successful learners. MTSS might also be referred to as the Tier Process and/ or RTI (Response to Intervention).
The MTSS process provides different levels of support depending upon the needs of the child. At the core of MTSS is high quality classroom instruction that is aligned to the Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards. MDE
