McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ensures that children and youth experiencing homelessness have equal access to a free, appropriate public education. Students who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence may qualify for services and supports that help remove barriers to school enrollment, attendance, and academic success.
The RCSD McKinney-Vento Program provides assistance with immediate school enrollment, school stability, transportation (when eligible), school supplies, referrals to community resources, and other support services to help students remain engaged in their education.
If you believe your child may qualify for services under the McKinney-Vento Act or would like additional information, please contact the district's McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison, Dr. Rico Buckhaulter.
