Thank you for your interest in Frontiers! We are always interested in receiving applications and talking to prospective employees! We are currently hiring for the 2021-2022 school and have employee openings in Brandon, Florence, Flowood, McLaurin, Pelahatchie, Pisgah, and Richland.
What is Frontiers? Frontiers Extended-Day Enrichment Program, best known simply as “Frontiers,” is the self-funded, tuition-based, after-school program of Rankin County School District. We provide after-school care for elementary students in each school’s cafeteria, IF the school meets the program's minimum student enrollment requirement by the given deadline. Sites are open each school day from the school’s dismissal time until 6:00 p.m. and are closed for all weekends, school holidays, and summers!
Job Duties: Employees are responsible for supervising students through all phases of the day while maintaining a fun, friendly atmosphere in which students feel safe. Phases of a typical afternoon include: snack, homework, Enrichment activities, playground time, free play, and game time. Chores and other cleaning responsibilities are also frequently required to maintain a clean, safe site for all staff and students.
Hours: Employees are generally scheduled to work from 1:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. or so each day - depending on how many students are remaining towards the end of the day. If you have a conflict with these days and/or hours, the Substitute position may best fit your schedule. The Sub position is flexible and ideal for employees who are enrolled in college courses, take college classes with labs, have a morning or evening job obligation that interferes with our hours, etc.
Requirements: All positions require employees to be positive roles models for students. ALL applicants must have: valid photo identification, a social security card (this cannot be a copy), and a bank account or card through which the employee can receive direct deposit. Background checks are also required to be performed for all applicants who are 18+ years old ($40 cash required; we cannot accept background checks performed by another agency).
Pay: All positions are part-time; therefore, employees are not eligible to receive benefits and do not receive paid time off (i.e: sick/vacation days, holiday/summer pay, etc.). Employees are only paid for actual hours worked, once a month, on the last working day of the month. Hourly rates for each position are as follows:
|Instructor||16+ years old with HS Diploma or GED||$10.01/hr|
|High School Assistant||High School Seniors (16+ years old)||$8.05/hr|
|Substitute||16+ years old with HS Diploma or GED||$8.05/hr|
