Teachers and Administrators of the Year

Each year Rankin County School District selects one teacher and one administrator to represent the RCSD in the Statewide Teacher and Administrator of the Year competition. Our committee also selects an elementary, secondary, teacher and administrator of the year. This year we added two more categories, new teacher, as well as assistant administrator of the year.  When we made the announcements, we surprised each recipient with a large certificate and balloons, provided by the Foundation for the Rankin County Schools. As I call your name please come to the front to be recognized and remain up front to take a photo.  

Teacher of the Year

New Teacher of the Year – Faith Fewell from McLaurin High School 
Elementary Teacher of the Year – Alexis Grey from Highland Bluff
Secondary Teacher of the Year – Becky Farnham from Brandon High School
District Teacher of the Year – Kati Winningham from Puckett High School 

Administrator of the Year 

Assistant Administrator of the Year – Marcus Stewart from Brandon High School 
Elementary Administrator of the Year – Dr. Melissa McCray from McLaurin Elementary 
Secondary Administrator of the Year – Shea Taylor from Northwest Rankin Middle School 
District Administrator of the Year – Vallerie Lacey from Brandon Elementary
