Technology Lunch & Learn for Parents

We are so excited to offer a new training series for parents and guardians titled Technology Lunch & Learn! Parents and guardians will be able to attend a virtual 30-minute training on a variety of technology topics that will enable them to better assist their students at home. All trainings will be hosted on Zoom and will be recorded and accessible after each session on this page. Zoom links for each session will be shared by the school via SwiftK12 the day before each event.

Google Classroom (K-6)

October 13 | 12:00-12:30

In this training, parents will learn the basics about Google Classroom. We will look at how to log in, how to navigate the Classroom, how to submit assignments, and more!

Canvas (7-12 & 6 BMS and FMS)

October 14 | 12:00-12:30

In this session, we will go over Canvas basics for parents. You will be able to assist your child with navigating the dashboard, notification settings, and more!

Cyber Safety Tips (K-12)

October 21 | 12:00-12:30

We will discuss some helpful tips for device management at home and will provide helpful resources for parents to access.

Powerschool Parent Portal (K-12)

October 27 | 12:00-12:30

In this session, we will give an overview of PowerSchool's Parent Portal, which is the platform you may use to view your child’s grades and attendance. 

Chromebook Basics (K-6)

November 3 | 12:00-12:30

Students in grades 3-6 will be using Chromebooks this year in school. We will discuss some of the basic features of the Chromebook such as where to locate and adjust settings, how to access apps, and how to log in.

Macbook Basics (7-12)

November 4 | 12:00-12:30

In this session, we will review the basic features of the Macbook. This is the district-issued device for 7-12 graders.
