My name is Drew Fowler and I am an 11th grade AP English Lang and Creative Writing teacher at Brandon High School. This is my third year teaching at Brandon, and I am thankful to have the chance to teach at my Alma Mater! I graduated from Brandon in 2006 and then went on to become another bulldog at Mississippi State. While at MSU, I graduated with a Bachelor of History in 2011 and with a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2014. Part of my goal in becoming a teacher is to eventually teach English overseas. In order to reach this goal, I became certified in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), which also certified me to teach English/Language Arts.
I believe that the best teachers are the ones that love, care for, and are present with their students. Teaching is a dedication to a life of service, and I fully believe that being a mentor, instructor, and friend to my students is my life's calling. Being a teacher is a lifestyle, and I pray that my life's actions and words let my students know that I am their advocate. 11th grade is the beginning of the post-high school journey, and I hope that with a little direction, passion, and guidance that my students fall in love with learning and meet their incredibly high potential.
